A vast improvement over the abysmal 2018 reboot, though not without its flaws. The Predator in this movie is so savage and has some of the most awesomely gruesome kills in the entire franchise. It makes good use of the Native American cast and provides enough gory violence to satisfy the average action film junkie. I didn’t really buy into the fact that the actors were delivering lines for characters that are supposed to be Comanche tribe from 300 years ago, yet sound like your average 2022 teenager. Dan Trachtenberg does an excellent job at directing this film and Amber Midthunder as Naru is a more than capable badass female lead. The original 1987 Predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of my all time favorite films, and besides Predator 2 and Predators, the sequels have been weak. So, despite Prey’s shortcomings, I would say it is definitely worth a watch if you are invested in the ALIEN/PREDATOR universe. If this is the direction the Predator series is going, than I’m definitely far more on board than I was after the 2018 disaster. #predatormovie
